Fwd: Week 6?

Welp, This week we were supposed to see Elder L Tom Perry on Saturday.. but he got re assigned so that wasn't able to happen. There were two members from the 70 there though.. but it was too bad we weren't able to see Elder Perry.

It was cool getting to see all the missionaries in the whole mission. Even though I don't know barely anyone there it was still a cool experience. I was also hoping, that because of the get together, they wmayd give information about getting ipads.. but nope.. Oh well. We will get them sometime I guess.
We have exchanges every week it seems like. This week I exchanged with our Zone Leader and I stayed in Sun Prairie again.

Shortly after exchanging companions we went to visit one of our potential investigators, I didn't know what room number the guy lived in, so we went to call Elder Santos to ask him which room number it was, and Elder Clement (the zone leader) pulled out the phone, to Call Elder Santos.. Elder Clements face got all red, and was like, UHH OHHHH. (He forgot to give his companion, the phone before we exchanged, so he had both phones) This was hilarious. There was no way we could contact the other Missionaries to ask them the question, or to see when and where we could re exchange. He knew that they had an appointment with one of their investigators at 4 at a McDonalds in Madison. Soo we quickly drove down to Madison, while driving, our car beeped saying we were out of gas.. Having no time, we ignored the empty gas beep and continued to the McDonalds hoping to catch the other missionaries.

Long story short, The investigator canceled, we went to the wrong McDonalds, almost ran out of gas and Elder Clement almost had a heart attack. After waiting for 10 minutes at the wrong McDonalds, we decided to drive to the other McDonalds where we barely caught the other missionaries before they drove off. and we luckily didn't run out of gas. Fun Times.

It was a good, solid week. Nothing out of the ordinary except for the Mission Conference (With the two members of the 70) and the wild goose chase to return the phone!

It's the end of my first transfer! I'm still with Elder Santos. For these upcoming six weeks, we have two very solid investigators that have a really good chance of getting baptized! So we'll see!

Love you all!

Week 5

It's getting harder and harder to think of what to say during these emails..

This week was good. Monday was our P-Day where we normally get up, go to the Millers for Breakfast, do our 2 hours of studies, then drive back to our apartment, get changed then head to the Library to email.

Then we normally go out to eat for lunch, last week we got Taco Bell. Then we head over to the church where we play Basketball, soccer, and volleyball with a bunch of missionaries. Maybe like 16 in all. (I'm getting good at volleyball haha) Then we go get our grocery's for the week, drop them off at the apartment, and back to visiting people by 6.

Then Tuesday we had a Zone Training Meeting type thingy in Madison and we had exchanges after. I stayed in Sun Prairie for this exchange. Everything went really good! We met some really cool people tracting that have some potential and yea. :P Everything went great.

Wednesday we helped an investigator at the local museum like we always do, every Wednesday and Friday. Then just did normal missionary work after..
Same with Thursday.. and Friday.. And Saturday... obviously..

But, Friday we had a 1-6 weeks Training for all the new missionaries. That was from 9 - 3, so that took most of the day. We just had training about stress.. blah blah blah and other stuff, did lots of role plays and yea. Just stuff. haha We got back to Sun Prairie at like 5 and we had more success in those short hours than we did on any other day that week. .

That's the weird thing, sometimes you can try as hard as you can to get stuff done and nothing goes through, but then sometimes everything just works out. Its random.

Saturday we had these members call us up and tell us we needed to stop by so we could pick up some Thin Mints. This couple is always calling us up, giving us food. Its awesome. So we went to pick up the Thin Mints and asked if we could do anything for them. So they had us work on this Kitchen Cabinet that wouldn't work for some reason.. Everything was lining up but it just wouldn't go in... I don't even know.. it was dumb. But we worked on it for like an hour and we just ended up staying there for dinner as well. So that was cool, we got dinner and thin mints out of that visit. :)

We didn't have very many meal appointments this week because it was stake conference last week.. We have 5 this week though so it makes up for it. oh, and I also got a surprise package from Sydney which was sooo nice of her! So thank you sooo much!!!

This Saturday Elder L. Tom Perry is visiting the whole mission in Milwaukee, so we get to drive up there and see him which is pretty cool. Hopefully he brings news of getting ipads. All the missions are supposed to have them by Early 2015. So we will see!

That's pretty much it this week though.

Love you all!

Week 4

Another week, They're going so fast its weird..
This week was just average i guess. Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

So far I've been on 2 exchanges, and another one this week. We're doing them a lot more often than I thought. But they aren't that bad I guess. It's 24 hours of being with another missionary in an area you're not used to. They go quick but I'm sure glad when they're over, so I can be back with my comp and in my area.

This week however, my comp is going to the different area and I get to be the one in charge of Sun Prairie. I'm excited haha. I get to be the one who knows what they're doing and be the one in charge for a little bit. Hopefully it goes well though and I know what I'm doing.

On Wednesday, Elder Santos was sick in bed most of the day so I studied and rearranged the apartment. Our apartment had the beds, desks, and living area all in the same room. The 2 bedrooms were barely getting used. So we moved our desks to one of the rooms and our beds to the other and just generally cleaned up, again. The apartment looks soooooo much better now. There's actually room in it now, and it feels so much better. So that's good.

We've been cooking a little more this week. Instead of just putting some pizzas in the oven every meal, we got some ingredients and made some legit meals. Thanks again Halley, for the cookbook. Im using it now. haha Cooked meals are a lot better than those pizzas... They just take longer to make.. sooo there's pros and cons..

We have a sick new investigator that we have high hopes for now. He's like 13 and his parents don't care that we're teaching him so we'll see where this goes!

I think that's about it! Love you all!

Note from Tina, I think sick means "great" or something like that!

Third Week

Soo this week was interesting I guess. I can't remember all the days because they all just blend together already. We ate at a members home one of the nights, The Millers. They have us over so often. They love the missionaries, it's awesome. But they served us spaghetti, and they served us. We didn't put the food on our plates. So they handed me a plate full of spaghetti and meatballs. Full. Like the whole plate, stacked to the top. Like, when they brought the first plate over to the table I thought that was the plate for everyone. But no, each of us had a plate that full. Man, it was hard. I ate as much as I could, I already wasn't feeling good that day and then I stuffed myself there. I wasn't able to finish the plate but I had still had wayy more than I should've. We stayed there and talked for another hour or so and then we went back to our apartment. I was not feeling good. At allll. I moaned and groaned for the next few hours trying to sleep and I ended up throwing it alll up around 11. But man did I feel better after that. Me and my comp were looking it up and apparently I had like an inflated stomach. Cuz I had the symptoms for that and whatnot. So yea This week I was a lil sick and so was my comp. He thought he had food poisoning one of the days. Oh and that reminds me, a week or so ago, at a members home we had Huge Broccoli and squash. That's it. I was looking at the meal before the prayer and I was just thinking.. well crap. This sucks... I ate it. But yea that was not a fun meal.. Then on Friday, we had a meal at this member's home with all the missionaries in the ward. So there were six of us there, and me and Elder Santos had the lesson or whatever afterwards. So we had our meal and it was time for the lesson. Our lesson was a object lesson for their kids, there was a piece of paper that had a person drawn on it. This represented you. Then the kids wrote on the paper all the sins they might come across at school or whatever. So they wrote all the sins down, in the body, on the paper. And then we said that only through Christ, your sins can go away. And then we had a lighter, that we put under the paper, which erased the sins that the kids wrote down (it was some kind of special ink that erased with heat) And then we said that by erasing your sins, you took the name of Christ upon you. And here's the funny part. So we have some special ink that appears with lots of heat, so earlier we wrote on the paper the word "Christ" so that after the sins were gone, we could heat up the word CHRIST and it would appear. Showing that you took the name of Christ upon you. (I know this is confusing) But when Elder Santos was heating up the Paper so CHRIST would appear, the paper caught fire... in a member's home.. with all the missionaries and a family gathered around.. So Elder Santos quickly blew on the paper, and ended up wrapping the paper up into a ball so the fire wouldn't spread. He tried playing it off soo well and he did a good job with playing it off, but obviously that wasn't supposed to happen.. All the missionaries started bursting out laughing as hard as they could and then the members and the kids started laughing.. so yea. Good thing everyone thought it was funny. It was actually super funny. So yea, Santos almost burned a member's house down... xD

Sooo other than a couple exciting things that happened this week, it was pretty normal. Everything's going good, weather isn't as bad to me now. 20 degrees seems warm. Had some good lessons with investigators and such. but yea! That's pretty much it. Hopefully getting ipads on the 21st when an Apostle comes to speak to the whole mission.

 Love you all!
